Here we go again - just as you were getting used to all those Sunday morning lie-in’s the rugby season is here again and dad once again has the perfect excuse not to get on with that DIY he’s been promising to do all summer!

Blues South U16’s Selection - 27th Aug 2010

Once again Rhiwbina have good representation in this years Blues South U16’s with David Gooding, Owen Paul and Rhys Calder all making the final squad.

In the Blues South U16’s Development squad Zach Bartlett, Huw Brobin, Jake Chilcott, Hugh Meatyard, Tom Morris and Connor Bickford all came thru an initial selection of over 100 players to make the final cut.

Well done guys!

Cardiff and Vale District U14s EAST squad selection - 19th Aug 2010

Congratulations to the following 13 Rhiwbina players on selection to the Cardiff and Vale District U14s EAST squad:-

Theo Warren, Sam Brinkworth, Will Haines, Sean Lynch, Syd Blackmore, Tom Candlin, Myles Churcher, Brendan Napp, Roy Furnival, Luke Fish, Alex Lloyd, Conner Kidner and Jerry Casserly.

Cardiff Schools U11’s Presentation - 6th July 2010

Rhiwbina U11 players Daniel Schwartz, Max Harding, James Ford, Sion Parry and Rhodri Beynon attended this years’s Cardiff Schools Presentation at Cardiff Arms Park.

Congratulations go to Max Harding and Rhodri Beynon for receiving a coach's award, and to Sion Parry for receiving Player of the Year award.

Cardiff Schools U15’s Presentation - 30th June 2010

This evening saw Cardiff Schools U15’s present Caps and Photos to those players who had represented Cardiff Schools U15’s throughout the season. Held at Cardiff Arms Park, Rhiwbina were fortunate to have 10 boys picked for this honour.

Cardiff Schools U15’s 2010-11 Season

Congratulations to Adam Nyhan, Jack Allwood and Jacob Lewis who have been picked for this season’s Cardiff Schools U15’s squad.

Also to Sam Brinkworth of the U14’s who has also been picked a year early.

New Seniors Head Coach - Gareth Lintern - June 2010

Rhiwbina RFC would like to welcome new Head Coach Gareth Lintern.

Gareth is currently on the Welsh Rugby Union Elite Coaching level 4 programme and successfully coached Pontypool RFC to the Swalec League Division One title and subsequent promotion to the Welsh Premiership in his first full season.

We would like to wish Gareth every success with Rhiwbina RFC.

At the recent AGM the following were voted in as officers of the Junior Section:-

Registration Secretary - Sue Beynon
Fixture Secretary - Terry Gooding

The committee would like to thank Ian George (Treasurer) and Bev Hampson (Reg Sec) for many years service to the Junior Section.

Taking their places are Sally Howells and Sue Beynon respectively and the committee would like to welcome them in their new roles.
